Ad: Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel
FOR SALE: Unfinished new-in-box Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel. Desert Weavers and Spinners guild selling this wheel for $425 (MRP $615)
The most popular spinning wheel in the world. So many people have made this wheel their first wheel. It’s affectionately called a “Traddy” by many. It’s a proven design for over 40 years with a 22 inch wheel.
Like the Traditional scotch tension spinning wheel but with the double drive belt system. The double drive produces a fine, firm-twist yarn particularly suited for fine wools and exotic fibres. One adjustment controls both drive band and bobbin take-up. Easily converted to Scotch tension with the option attached to the wheel. With ball bearings and its large drive wheel treadling is smooth and effortless and the treadling speed is easily controlled.
Wheel diameter 56cm (22ins)
Orifice 10mm (.75in)
Bobbin capacity 100gm (3-4oz)
Ratios 6.5, 12.5 17.5
Weight 8kg (17.5lbs)
Includes a Lazy Kate, 4 bobbins, threading hook and a learn to spin booklet.
Comes unfinished. It should have a finish applied before assembling.

x-DS: 4+oz of pulled sari silk (roving)

SOLDHi! I want to destash 4.87 oz of pulled sari silk in roving form, purchased from Paradise Fibers. It’s lovely stuff, for spinning as is or for blending, but it’s time to move it to a new home. Has been stored in a cedar chest with lavender in a non-smoking home shared with dogs and cats who neither smoke nor play in the fiber. $12 includes US shipping with tracking, PayPal only. Please PM me if interested. Thanks! (:
FS: WooLee Winder for Ashford Traditional/Traveller DD

For Sale -- one used WooLee Winder for Double Drive (or whorl-driven) Ashford Traditional or Traveller.
I bought this for my wheel about a year ago, not realizing that it would not work for my single-drive, flyer-driven Traveller. This WooLee Winder is in good shape -- I bought it from the original owner. She had used it a lot, but had sent it in to WooLee Winder for refurbishing, so it is in excellent condition. It comes with three bobbins.
$200, shipping is free.
FS: Vermont Wheel

I purchased this lovely wheel in 2014 at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. It’s been used very infrequently, and is in excellent condition. I’m more adept at spinning on my double treadled Lendrum, so it would be wonderful if a new owner could happily spin on this Vermont wheel ;)
It’s a gorgeous cherry wood with beautiful lathing, and has a single treadle. It comes with three bobbins and has 2 ratios: 12:1 and 18 :1. The diameter of this wheel is 27″. This wheel must be picked up at my location in Glen Ridge, NJ. Payment is cash or PayPal - $900.00. Please PM me with any questions that you have.

FS~ 1867 Alxr McIntosh Spinning Wheel
For Sale ~ $350.00 CDN
Marked Alexander McIntosh 1867 (She’s 150 years old this year!) Wheel from Alvin Ramers collection in Southern Ontario (he started to refinish this wheel before he took ill and sold his collection 2 years ago, hence why the colour variances on certain pieces).
I bought this wheel a year ago from a woman who had no idea how to spin and realized she wasn’t cut out for fiber arts. After cleaning her up (she was as dried out as a piece of driftwood) and getting the gleam back into the wood, she has spun miles of yarn for me in the last year.
Reason for selling? I have a home and a cottage and the cottage is where my other wheels are and I bought this one for home with the intention of spinning in the winter when the cottage is closed (and not have to transport wheels back and forth), BUT, I have a large floor loom at home that I only use late Fall/Winter & early Spring and I realized this past winter that I pretty much weave in my spare time at home and therefore, no time for spinning as I have many weaving projects I want/need to get done before we open the cottage next month.
So…long story short, I don’t have time to use this wheel, as much as I coveted getting an Alex McIntosh wheel. My hubby made 2 more bobbins for her too. So there is the original bobbin, and 2 makeshift ones that work.
I will not ship, but will deliver within an hour of my location (Burlington, ON, Canada) in exchange for gas money. For anyone local, if you would like to come and try it out first, feel free to leave a comment below.

FS: Louet S51 ST, awesome beginners wheel!!!

So my husband thought he wanted to take up spinning after watching me do it for so long and he was getting a little sick of knitting. Well, he spun on this wheel for about 5 minutes and really hasn’t touched it since which I think is a HUGE shame and we’ve decided it needs a home where it’s more appreciated. It’s actually the exact same wheel I already have or else I would keep it as a second wheel.
It’s a Louet S51 ST with a built in lazy kate. I love, love, love my S51 and it’s a true work horse! I spin everything from fine lace weight to bulky art yarn on it and it really does spin like a dream! This is a discontinued model, but almost all Louet flyers and bobbins fit on this wheel.
Comes with 4 bobbins, a lazy Kate, and is ready to go! Asking $350 and can either do local pick up in New Orleans or shipping in the US only. Happy spinning ya’ll!

FS - Kiwi 2 Folding
My quest for a second wheel continues. As such, this lovely little brand new (spun on for 1 bobbin) kiwi needs to find a home where she will be used. Nope, there’s nothing wrong with her, it’s me. She is finished with 3 coats of danish oil in a cherry flavor and topped with 2 coats of howard’s feed and wax. She also has some added embellishments woodburned by me to add to her beauty.
Included are the wheel, obviously, the high speed whorl & drive band and some rolags to spin on her. I will toss in the spray paint I used in the wheel itself also.
I would love to find a buyer within a couple hours of my place in central NH. I don’t really want to ship her. Since she is basically new and finished with extras I would like $450 for her. That’s the price of a new, unfinished Kiwi. I would entertain a reasonable offer.
I am also cross posting this.

FS: Ashford Drum Carder, antique spinning wheel

Hi. We had a furnace emergency 2 days ago, and now have to figure out how to pay for it. I have for sale:
1 Ashford drum carder in pretty good condition. It has a small surface crack on one of the wheels that we stabilized, and at the moment our granddaughter seems to have taken the handle so tomorrow we will make another. It probably wont match exactly, but will work just fine. Includes the original doffer and one extra. Asking $225.00/bo plus shipping.
I also have 1 antique wheel for sale. One is an upright style that I believe the legs have been replaced on. I was going to turn new ones to match but just haven’t gotten to it. It also need a tension knob on the top, but will adjust the tension without the knob. Asking $100.00/bo plus shipping
