For sale: Older model Bluebonnet Thimble (does not have logo on treadles). I purchased this just over a year ago.
I have 3 other wheels and this one just isn’t offering anything that I’m not already getting from the others, so I’m passing it on so the it gets the appreciation it deserves.
There was a problem with the flyer and drive shaft when I purchased it, so I replaced them and purchased two additional bobbins because I like having 5 bobbins for my wheels. The new flyer is a lighter color than the original wheel, as are the new bobbins.
Comes with original 3 bobbins, 2 new bobbins, lazy kate. I do not have the original allen wrench to adjust the flyer position, but you can easily get one at Lowes or Home Depot.
New these wheels cost $725, and additional bobbins cost $32.50. I’m asking $475 OBO.
I’d prefer pick up in the Baltimore/DC area (I’m very willing to drive halfway to meet a potential buyer) but will ship if I don’t find a local buyer. If it needs to be shipped, buyer to pay shipping.

I bought this beauty two years ago and have hardly used it. It came from a friend who had health issues with fiber and couldn’t spin anymore. She thinks it’s a 2012. Included are tools, original booklets, 2whorls, 4 bobbins, everything original that came with it. I would drive a couple of hours from Knoxville, Tennessee to deliver.

I bought Kermit last fall after several months of agonizing, and testing of wheels. I used him for Spinzilla, spinning a mile of yarn. But we never really clicked, and I have since bought a Hansen, which I love. I’m hoping that Kermit can find a home where he will be equally loved.
This is the 8-oz setup with lazy kate. There are 3 bobbins. The kate has 4 short rods which fit these bobbins, and two longer rods which I think are for the 64 ounce bobbins. The kate can be used attached to the wheel or free-standing, as shown in the pictures. It travels well strapped in the car seat.

This lovely Ashford Elizabeth II was our shop icon and now that we have closed our store (Purlescence Yarns) we find that we don’t have a place for it in our home. Her name is Beloved, and she is stained purple and has a Rumi quote and our store name on the public face of the flywheel. She is a double treadle wheel, and is currently set up in double drive, but is also easily switched to scotch tension.
She has a matching lazy kate and four bobbins stained to match.
