FS Cherry 30" Schacht-Reeves Saxony spinning Wheel

It is with heavy heart that I have decided to sell my Schacht-Reeves spinning wheel. I sustained a back injury two years ago, right after I bought her new. I attempted to continue spinning and am physically unable. She is a 30” in cherry. This one is a right side flyer with a single treadle. There are three additional bobbins that I purchased later. The bobbins hold an amazing amount of fiber. They say 3 - 3.5 ounces, but I have managed to get almost 4 ounces on them. Cherry is a beautiful wood, and is relatively lightweight. I can still pick this wheel up.

New this model is selling for $1,780, additional bobbins in cherry are $49 each.

$1,500 includes shipping within the contiguous United States.

Single treadle Lendrum with four bobbins, bulky flyer, high speed flyer with one bobbin, and new drive bands, $450, will not ship, but I’ll be at Madrona and Judith MacKenzie’s Rabbit class in Silverton, Oregon. The wheel is in Hood River and I could deliver it to Portland, Oregon.

This wheel spins great. I had a double treadle Lendrum, and this spins just as well.

Vintage Saxony Wheel with 4 bobbins $300

May be a Toika Ulla, although there are no maker’s marks

This wheel has indications of having been a wheel that was used to spin that give it character and charm. Staining near lubrication points and where metal parts have oxidized, wear on the flyer arm where yarn passed over it. Three of the Four bobbins have had repairs done at some time - these are shown in the pics. These repairs do not interfere with its ability to produce excellent yarn.

This wheel spins beautifully. I’ve found it to excel at finer yarns and had no difficulty making a three ply fingering weight yarn. I have had success spinning many types of fibers on this wheel, insluding wool, wool/silk blends, hemp & cotton. This wheel has a small orifice and small hooks so would be challenging to spin bulkier yarns on. It does not have a strong draw-in and is easy to use for long draw.

I originally purchased this wheel as part of a lot of spinning and weaving items as I was looking for a wheel with higher ratios than my Thumbelina wheel. My husband bought me a Kromski Minstrel for Christmas, so the extra wheel needs to go.

FS 3 week old Carson Cooper Krista double flyer wheel in cherry. Comes with an extra whorl for ratios ranging from 8:1 to 60:1 and extra bobbins for a total of 8. I paid $3,500. Asking $2,750 cash. I have not bonded with this wheel as I had hoped and have many other wheels in my collection so if anyone has been wanting one of these wheels, here is an opportunity. This wheel is in EXCELLENT CONDITION.
My godmother gifted it to me for Christmas, so it has been used less than ten times, and has never been transported over of my apartment.
The OVERDRIVE HEAD has NEVER BEEN USED!
It comes with 4 regular bobbins, and 2 gallon sized bobbins.
I am asking

$1,200.00 for the wheel,
And I’m asking $350.00 for the OVERDRIVE HEAD and extra bobbin.
I am selling this wheel after, recent, news that I have congestive heart failure, and kidney failure.

SOLDPrice reduced, I think I had it too high. Lovely top whorl spindle from the famed Spanish Peacock, etched heart on top surface. Weighs less than an ounce. This spindle spins like a dream, just keeps on going, but my shoulders just won’t let me drop spindle anymore. $40 with free US shipping, other shipping to be calculated. Will include 4 ounces of California Red roving. I am sorry to have to let this one go.

For some complicated but boring reasons, I ended up with two sets of curved Schacht Hand carders, fine TPI. I’m brand new to Hand-carding and found them very pleasant to use.

These retail for $92.00, and are 100% new--still wrapped and in the box. I am charging $80.00 for them, and including shipping to anywhere in the US. The photograph below is the pair I am keeping, since the new pair is still in its box and I will send it without opening it.
