FOR SALE – Schacht Rick Reeves Spinning Wheel (24”, Ash, Double Treadle, currently set up for Double Drive), which I, sadly, must part with. I am not sure how old she is but I am her second owner. Her serial number is 1-0575 (if that tells you anything). She is in perfect shape and spins like a dream. I would really prefer not to have to ship her but could definitely drive a couple of hours to meet someone. I will be driving from NE Florida (32097) to Louisville, KY to visit my new grandchild (2nd week of June and the end of July into August) and could arrange to meet you somewhere along the route. She comes with the 3 whorls stored under the frame, two spare bobbins and her Lazy Kate. These are still handmade, one at a time, when you place your order. A new one through the Woolery will run just over $1400. I am asking $1,150 and will consider any reasonable offer.

I have a Shetland fleece to find a new home for. I went fleece shopping for a fleece to blend with a rambouillet that I have and came home with two, but it turns out that I don’t need them both. It started as 2.4lbs, after skirting and washing in power scour it’s at 1.81 lbs (1lb 13oz). It’s all black, with a few silver strands here and there from a ewe. Asking $25 + shipping (which I estimate to be about $15)

For Sale:Paradise Drum Carder. Its similar to the Howard Brush David Triple-Drum Carder. It comes with the clamps and a brush. It works fine. It’s a triple drum carder that comes fully assembled and is made out of solid, unfinished hardwood. The overall size is 15 inches long (not including the 12 inch pull out wool tray), 17 inches wide, and 10 inches high. The main drum or “swift” is 8.5 inches wide and 8 inches in diameter, and the other two drums, or “licker-in,” are 8.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches in diameter.

Selling at new UNFINISHED PRICE of $1500, you get the $500 finishing for free. I ordered a Jensen (made in WI) double table “Ashley” spinning wheel. It is double treadle….and after getting it, I prefer single treadle. I have short legs and the double treadles put me smack dab in the middle of this wheel, away from the orifice. All other saxony style wheels with single treadle, I don’t have this problem. Double treadles are fine for me on uprights or castle style wheels. SO! I ordered another wheel from Jerry, an upright Tina II. I spun on one at his shop when I picked up the Ashley and really enjoyed it! This wheel comes with 3 whorls (6 ratios) and 3 bobbins. Standard Ratios are 10:1, 12:1, 13.3:1, 15:1, 17:1. Jensen ratios are determined by dividing the diameter of the whorl into wheel diameter. This is a 30” wheel. Now, Jerry’s wheels have quite a waiting list if you order one and they ARE $1,500 UNFINISHED! Jerry no longer finishes them. When he did, he charged an extra $500 to finish! This wheel has been professionally finished with Formby’s Tung Oil Finish and is simply stunning! If I didn’t have another wheel to pay for….well, but she should be used! So you can buy this wheel w/o the wait AND is already professionally finished! (Sorry, am keeping the kate for my Tina wheel I just ordered.) This wheel was finished by Jerry Jensen in March of 2017, then wood finished in April, and is NEW. I will not ship this wheel, sorry. Thank you!

Includes 2 - 2 row English style combs with wooden case that doubles as a clamp, and 2 clamps. My Lab did grab one of the dowels and chewed the decorative part, but it does not affect the function. I did sand it down:

“These are our “Standard” combs, and are made to be strong, functions, and economical. The 2 1\/2 inch tines are deep set into the comb bed for extra stability. The comb bed itself is a cross grain lamination of cherry and walnut that is designed to add strength, contrast , and prevent cracking. The 6” solid cherry handles are hand-turned for comfort and beauty, and pass entirely through the comb bed for maximum strength. Each comb weighs approximately 7.5 ounces (210 grams).
