and on the back as well.

The other two whorls (one is already on the wheel) screw on under the table for storage. The other two pegs are actually the attachments for the uprights that hold the wheel. they have wood bolts on them that can be tightened by hand in case the uprights loosen a little from spinning.
![other two whorls.jpg]()
The orifice hook fits on the table of the wheel, and the treadle is a generous size.

Reeves tensioned Lazy Kate, bobbins

The Spriggs bobbin is the lighter oak, and the other Spriggs in on the wheel. One Reeves bobbin was chipped, but was fixed before I received it. It is still usable.

Finally, this wheel is signed by Rick Reeves, who sadly passed away this year in February. He crafted amazing wheels and continued to guide spinners of all ages throughout his life.

AVAILABLE 2. Vintage Mid-1970’s Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel - $400 or $500
Single treadle, single drive, Scotch tension
This lovely wheel comes with four original wood-core bobbins, original vertical Lazy Kate with new bobbin rods, the orifice hook fiber, and the 1986 copyrighted Ashford Book of Spinning.
The wood has been treated several times with Howard Feed and Wax, the leathers have been mink oiled, and I use Ashford spinning oil to lubricate her properly. She spins beautifully! I have spun several times on her. I obtained her in December, and I named her Holly.
![Holly2edit.jpg]()
I have never seen a grooved wheel like this.
Crank is in superb condition.
![Crank.jpg]()
Treadle is solid, no cracks, splits, or chips.
![Treadle.jpg]()
The vintage flyer has two whorls, and the flyer mounting bearings are the originals.

REPAIRS:
I restrung a new brake band with new Ashford springs and nylon line.
I replaced a cracked MOA attachment to wheel (discovered after I bought the wheel) with a new authentic Ashford piece and new brass hinges and screws.
Old Damage.jpg
The attachment piece, lazy kate rods, and tension springs were purchased from Village Spinning and Weaving.
The leather conrod that attaches the footman to the treadle was split when I saw the wheel. I tied it together with string to make sure the wheel was functional. At home, I trimmed a vintage leather belt scrap to the proper size and punched holes in the proper places to attach it.

Also included with purchase of this sweet wheel will be an assortment of fibers. This includes the remaining Anzula fiber from the small Holly-spun skein on the wheel, approx. 12 ounces of handpainted 100% shetland, and 240 yards of handpainted 100% shetland handspun, approx 3.3 oz. I spun that on Holly.

This lovely wheel has the vintage patina and allure of age, and Howard Feed and Wax keeps the wood looking beautiful and healthy.
Asking $400 for this wheel package, local pickup in NE Ohio only. I will drive one to 1 1/2 hours to meet halfway I will not ship this wheel.
However, there are additional accessories for an additional cost. I converted my own double-treadle 2008 Ashford traditional to double drive, and I have all the single drive accessories available as a package. I have had them all since 2008. Although they do not match the lovely vintage patina Holly’s wood, everything will work on her.

This additional package includes:
- 3 whorl standard single drive flyer, finished
- Six modern-core bobbins, some finished, some uncertain but smooth
- Jumbo flyer with jumbo orifice on a separate maiden, unfinished but very smooth
- Three jumbo bobbins, unfinished, but also smooth
- Ashford tensioned Lazy Kate - no longer made
I will sell this package with the wheel for an extra $100, bringing the total price to $500. If not, I will sell it separately for $150, but not until after the wheel is sold without it.

AVAILABLE 3. Clemes and Clemes Blending Board Package
This beautiful cherry blending board was used only about 3 times total and is in pristine condition. It includes the board, cherry blending brush, and dual-position cherry keel . It did not come to me with the cherry dowel for lifting rolags, but I included three dowels of different diameters.
This package also includes a separately-purchased Clemes and Clemes batt lifter (perfect if you have a drum carder, too) and anti-static storage sheet with sleeve. Also, there are two extra refill sheets and sleeves. You can create batts on your blending board, lift them completely, and store them safely if you don’t want to pull roving or rolags.
I am including both sets of instructions for the blending board and batt lifter. There are also several you tube videos specifically for using this blending board.
Finally, I am including approximately 550g, almost 20 ounces, of beautiful hand-dyed fibers, in multiple blends of polwarth, merino, silk, and other fibers, perfect for blending into one-of-a kind artisan batts. I explained them in more detail on this page.
![Fiber for CC.jpg]()
I am asking $275 for the whole package, plus buyer pays shipping unless you can pick up locally in NE Ohio.
