FS: Kromski Sonata, Jumbo Flyer & Lazy Kate

FS: Kromski Minstrel with Woolie Winder
Hello! Though it pains me, I’m putting up my beloved Kromski Minstrel for sale. This is the wheel that got me hooked. She is in phenomenal shape. I’ve kept this wheel well oiled and well maintained in the almost 5 years I’ve had her. My husband bought me a Minispinner last year when I broke my knee and couldn’t treadle. So sadly, this wheel hasn’t received the love it deserves in too long.
This Minstrel has the Mahogany finish, and I tricked her out with a Woolie Winder, but you will also receive the regular flyer as well. 5 standard bobbins and 3 WW bobbins are also included, as well as a partial bottle of oil to get you started. The 4 year old is negotiable.
The observant will notice a small collapsible mirror zip tied behind the flyer. That is removable; it let me see how my regular bobbin was filling when I was entirely too pregnant (or lazy)to bend over and check.
Brand new, this package would sell for just over $1000 (minus the 4 year old). I’m asking for $600. I live in Rochester, NY and am willing to drive a few hours to meet a buyer. I will also be at Rhinebeck this year on the Sunday if that would be convenient. I REALLY don’t want to ship my baby. FS merlin tree DT Hitchhiker will ship
Hi I ordered this DT hitchhiker in march. I used it a few times….I just don’t go anywhere to warrant keeping it . In great shape. FS: Ashford Traditional ST SD $400 in Manitoba
I’m selling my Ashford Traditional spinning wheel in order to raise funds for my next wheel purchase. I’m asking $400 CAD for local pick-up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, or $400 USD + shipping and insurance (or CAD equivalent) if I have to take it apart and ship it outside of Manitoba. US buyers would also be responsible for paying any duties and taxes from crossing the border.
It’s single treadle, single drive, and judging by the timeline photos on the Ashford website, I believe it may be from 1982. The previous owner did not take care of the wheel, and I think it may have been left out on a rainy porch or in a damp basement so there’s some small water marks on the wood. Cosmetic damage aside, the wheel spins straight and true, and I took the whole thing apart last year to remove any rust and condition the wood.
I replaced the leather piece attaching the footman to the treadle, replaced all hooks on the flyer, put a new cotton drive band on and replaced the tension knob, brake band and orifice hook. I also got 3 new bobbins as the one it came with was broken.
She now spins just like new, and I spun a few bobbins with her before life got in the way. You may have seen me with her in the spinner’s circle at the Fibre Festival this past weekend!
This wheel will come with the three bobbins and all the remaining unused pieces from the Ashford repair kit (another cotton drive band, a few unused hooks, a bottle of wheel oil) and a partially used small bottle of Howard’s Feed n Wax.
I’m in the Osborne Village area of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Buyer must pick up evenings or weekends. Please send me a PM if interested so that I get an email notification, if you just post here I may not see it for a while.
