I have an awesome wheel to pass on to a spinner looking for a sturdy little saxony wheel. Great for demos, reenacting, or teaching.
The wheel is a Nees Homespinner, located in the DC suburbs (MD side). Wheel comes with original orifice hook, kate, and 4 bobbins. There’s not a lot about this sweet little wheel out there, but there is a mostly silent Rav group with some good info on maintenance or upgrade options.
Single treadle, scotch tension. Only one ratio. Compares to an older model Ashford traditional. I’ve spun on both and prefer this one to to the Traddy.
Asking a rehoming fee of $265 for the wheel, kate, and some starter fiber. Local pick-up only, unless you can work with me to figure out shipping/transport.
ETA: I did routine maintenance on the wheel, including adding a new cotton drive band. It’s all-in-all in great condition.

This is a mishmash of wool and wool blends. I know there is some Merino, Gotland, Cheviot, and blends which include mohair and silk with the wool. As well as 100% Alpaca.
I just do not have the time to spin this or the space to house it, I have had it for at least 2 years.

Schacht Matchless spinning wheel, maple, double treadle, bought new a few years ago at Maryland Sheep and Wool. Honestly, I love this wheel and hate to sell it, but I’m getting ready to move and need to downsize and raise some funds. I’m looking for a gently used but functional spinning wheel to learn on and expand my skills. I have been looking online and there seems to be not much available in Canada. I’m looking to hopefully find something suitable in central Ontario. I’m new to this platform and please be patient as I learn how to navigate it.
I’ve been researching spinning wheels and keep returning to the Echo by SpinOlogy for it’s compactness and accessories, so I’m looking for an Echo or something similar to spin a variety of thickness of yarns. I would also like a lazy Kate and at least 3-4 bobbins (4-8oz.)

This STEAMPUNK Style Drop Spindle design uses a rare 16 size cobalt blue enamel over an etched sterling silver plate pocket watch dial made in the late 1910’S by the Tavannes Watch Company of Tavannes, Switzerland. The dial is adorned with an vintage and antique watch balance wheel, escapement wheel, fusee hour chime gear, and a large ruby jewel. The dial is adhered to a silver plated floral design pendant and adhered to a 2” acrylic whorl - then it’s all encapsulated in 2 thick layers of epoxy resin. The bottom side of this spindle has a large (1.75”) brass vintage clock gear for good rim weight and stabilization of the thin whorl and it is adorned with an assortment of winding gears and drive gears and 24 Light Siam AB colored Swarovski crystal rhinestones and a single larger winding gear for balance - all encapsulated in 2 layers of epoxy resin
The WHORL is made from a acrylic disc that has been cut to fit this shaft and milled to soften the edges to smooth. The SHAFT is made from high carbon (spring) steel with forged hook that has a 2-part powder coat paint finish applied for a beautiful look and feel. All parts, including gold tone findings and cap bead are assembled with an industrial 2-part epoxy glue.
