Southdown fiber was featured in PLY magazine this spring.
I live in DFW, TX. I have southdown fleeces from a local farmer. They were shorn April 28th! Last friday.
They are pretty nice. Not coated so some vm of course. Some weak spots as well. 2 lamb and 2 adult fleeces. I pretty mercilessly skirted them but I am not a professional.
Ranges in weight from 2-5lbs
You can see in the pictures very fine crimp. I’m looking forward to spinning the one that I purchased!
